After my Mac's brush with death this week, I've decided to institute a strict backup regimen. I just ordered a 500 GB Mercury Elite-AL Pro external FireWire drive from Other World Computing and will be configuring SuperDuper! to perform automated backups four times per day. Once Leopard ships, I plan on using Time Machine to perform the backups.
My goal is simple: if (er, when) my machine fails again, I want to be able to completely recover by making a trip to the Apple Store, buying a new MacBook Pro, bringing it home, plugging it in, and booting from the external drive. I just hope by the time that happens Apple is shipping the MacBook Nano. :-)

How about adding an offsite backup service to your routine such as Mozy?

I've heard (admittedly anecdotal) negative reviews of Mozy itself, but an additional offsite backup is surely a good idea. I use Amazon S3 for some other stuff, so that's probably part of my ultimate solution.
Thanks,
Charlie
